Match Report:

This was a well deserved victory although it is true we made hard work of it.
We dominated first half possession and played some lovely free flowing football. A little bit more composure in front of goal and we could well have come in at half time 4 goals to the good.
Instead we had to thank Luke for a late first half goal to give us a much deserved advantage providing a good starting point for the 2nd half.

Unfortunately this did not prove to be the case and the 2nd half was a far different story.
Yes Villa made some changes that certainly strenghtened their resolve but to be honest they were given hope by our sloppy play.
We stopped what we were doing in the first half and started to give the ball away far too much. We stopped playing quick 10 yard passes and in the end were playing far too many long balls. As such we put ourselves under unnecessary pressure and had to rely on the defense being resolute and James making a couple of decent saves.

Hopefully the team will learn from this and look after the ball far better and punish the opposition when we are so much on top because when we meet stronger teams they will take advantage and all our good work could be for nothing.

Anyway 3 points in the bag and we move on to next week, away at Loddiswell.
